The Magento 2 UPS REST API Shipping Extension for Adobe Commerce connects your Magento store with official UPS REST APIs for live shipping rates, negotiated account rates, advanced packaging, shipping labels, tracking, and shipment management.
UPS shipping rates are calculated using the warehouse origin, customer destination, package weight, product dimensions, packaging configuration, Residential or Commercial status, and enabled UPS services. Available rates can be displayed during checkout and Magento Admin order creation.
Configure your warehouse origin under Admin → Stores → Configuration → Sales → Shipping Settings.
UPS REST API & OAuth 2.0: The extension supports UPS REST API authentication using a Client ID and Client Secret. Create an application through the UPS Developer Portal and enter the generated credentials in Magento Admin.
Magento and Adobe Commerce provide standard UPS functionality in supported configurations, but many merchants require additional control over product dimensions, multi-package calculations, residential shipping, negotiated rates, shipping markups, labels, tracking, and checkout behavior.

UPS rates can vary depending on whether a destination is Residential or Commercial. The extension can use UPS Address APIs to determine the address type before requesting shipping rates.
If UPS does not return an address classification, the extension can use the default address type configured in Magento Admin.

Merchants with negotiated UPS pricing can request account-level rates when supported by their UPS account and API response. This allows Magento to display applicable negotiated shipping prices instead of only published rates.
A fixed or percentage markup can also be applied before displaying the final UPS shipping price to the customer.
Create eligible UPS shipping labels directly from Magento Admin. Shipment and package information is submitted to UPS and returned tracking information can be associated with the Magento shipment.
The extension can cache qualifying rate requests and OAuth access tokens to reduce unnecessary UPS API calls. Detailed logging can also be enabled to troubleshoot authentication, rate, address, and packaging issues.
Note: Sensitive credentials should be excluded or masked in production logs.
A UPS account and valid UPS Developer API credentials are required. Create an application through the UPS Developer Portal and generate your Client ID and Client Secret.
Enter the REST API credentials in Magento Admin, configure your warehouse origin, select the allowed UPS methods, and configure negotiated rates, Residential/Commercial handling, packaging, weight, and checkout settings.
Legacy UPS Username, Password, and Access License Number credentials apply to older integrations and are not used for the current OAuth 2.0 REST API configuration.
